The Hellenic OCR Team and AFRIPAL (Africa Regional Convening on Parliament and Legislation) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a two-year partnership to advance parliamentary research and digitalization across Africa.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will jointly pursue training activities, technical assistance, and research on governance and parliamentarism, with particular focus on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into African parliaments.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Fotis Fitsilis, Co-founder and Team Leader of the Hellenic OCR Team, and Dr. Hannah Muzee, Chief Convener and Founding Executive Director of AFRIPAL.
“This MoU connects two communities working toward the same goal,” said Fitsilis. “AFRIPAL’s engagement with African parliaments gives our research on emerging technologies and parliamentary innovation a scale and relevance it could not achieve alone.”
