The Hellenic OCR Team announces its cooperation with the Hansard at Huddersfield, a project that aims to provide an easily searchable web-version of Hansard using interactive visualisations and simplified linguistic software to search large databases.
The cooperation came about following an inspired conversation between Lesley Jeffries, Hansard at Huddersfield principal investigator, George Mikros and Fotis Fitsilis, Hellenic OCR Team Co-Founders. The parties agreed in the exchange of knowhow, methods and code to jointly tackle common challenges that are related not only to data openness but also to increased visibility and understanding of parliamentary data sources. Tangible results of this cooperation may include joint conference announcements and scientific publications in the area of computational stylistics, a subset of computational linguistics, and beyond.
